A steam trap is an automatic valve that discharges condensate produced in steam-consuming processes and steam lines without releasing steam. There are three main types of steam traps based on their operating principles. TLV manufactures traps of all three types.
Mechanical
These traps operate on the principle of flotation. Also called float traps.
Thermodynamic
Steam traps that utilize the difference in the thermodynamic properties of condensate and steam Also called “Disc Traps”
Thermostatic
These traps utilize the difference in the temperatures of steam and condensate. Also known as “Temperature Control Traps” or “Balanced Pressure Traps”
For clean steam
Applications
Steam ducts
- Free float traps for main lines
- Disc traps
Steam heating equipment
- Free float traps
- Thermostatic steam traps
- Large capacity free float traps
Suitable for use on air conditioning, room heating, steam tracers, etc.
- Thermostatic steam traps
- Free float traps
- Adjustable temperature traps
There are several characteristics of TLV traps:
- Productivity improvement
- Energy saving
- A long life expectancy
- Easy maintenance
