FUNCTION
A turbine flow meter is equipped with an impeller that rotates when fluid flows past it.
The rotational speed is proportional to the flow, so if we know the rotational speed, we will also know the flow. To determine this, a sensor is used, which generates a pulse when a propeller passes in front of it.
By doing so, a sequence of pulses is obtained, whose frequency can be used to determine the flow rate.
BENEFITS
For the measurement of clean liquids, turbine flowmeters are very accurate. There is no effect on their performance due to pressure drops or low inertia, and they are ideal for fluctuating flow rates. Furthermore, their response time is quick.
